Ben Lee

Ben Lee was one of three brothers from Windsor, Ontario who served in the Second World War. He enlisted as soon as he was out of high school and served five years with the Perth Regiment, 11th Infantry Brigade, 5th Armoured Division.

The other Lee brothers from the same family that served were Edward Lee and Peter Lee.

Ben saw action in some important countries in the European theatre: Italy, France, Belgium, and Netherlands.

Ben survived the war, and came back to Windsor and worked at the family business – Lee’s Imperial Tavern — until his retirement. All three Lee brothers lived on the same block in double wide lots next door to each — houses purchased with Veteran loans they received after the war.

Ben died in Windsor in 1993 at the age 69.
